Description

Description

The MiniMag project involves developing a miniature magnetometer to measure magnetic fields in space. It aims to improve magnetic field measurements essential for understanding and predicting space weather, which impacts satellites, astronauts, and technology on Earth. The instrument is designed to capture magnetic field variations across a broad range of frequencies with a single compact sensor, suitable for small spacecraft. The project is being developed at the Laboratory for Atmospheric and Space Physics at CU Boulder, with initial prototype work done at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs campus. NASA has awarded $1.2 million to support the continued development of MiniMag.
