The Mining Sector Rehabilitation Project will assist the Government in the implementation of its mining sector strategy by promoting new private mining investments and supporting the rehabilitation of the Small and Medium Miners and Cooperatives State Mining Corporation (COMIBOL). The Mining Sector Rehabilitation Project will finance high priority investments, technical assistance, and training for the Government institutions, including the Ministry of Mining and Technology (MMM) and its dependencies, private mining companies and COMIBOL. It will consist of three components: (i) strengthening of Government mining institutions, (ii) provision of financial and technical assistance to private mines and coooperatives; and (iii) rehabilitation, management strengthening and training for COMIBOL as well as joint venture promotion.
