Description | Design and construction of two new ferry vessels: - one new ferry vessel for service to Wolfe Island (75 vehicle capacity) - one new ferry vessel for service to Amherst Island (40 vehicle capacity) - both vessels tendered under one design build contract which includes design and construction The vessels will have improved efficiency, including green technology, where possible, improved accessibility to meet the needs of users, improved amenities such as bike racks and luggage storage to support active transportation; the Ministry of Transportation Ontario (MTO) has provided opportunity in the request for proposal (RFP) for shipyards to propose innovations. |
