How does the power get into the socket? What is climate? Why is a tree green? How does a computer work? How is a plastic bag created? What is chemistry? Mint topics (mathematics, computer science, natural sciences, technology) are simply part of everyday life — even in nativity and daycare, as well as in Hort and elementary school. How can education in the areas of STEM now be implemented in a targeted, lasting and sustainable way in the field of elementary pedagogy and Hort/primary school, so that our children are already working on these supposedly bulky topics from a young age and are enthusiastic about it at an early stage? And above all, how can STEM topics be combined with the concept of sustainability? This project aims to create a cross-border, cross-institutional and inter-agency informal network of the institutions — crèche, kindergarten, primary school, hort, educational institutions — and the institutions of all kinds of school institutions. The project aims above all to attract the active pedagogical specialists as multipliers for STEM education and in addition to raising awareness among parents as well as important facilitators of STEM education. The exchange of experience takes place in the form of tried-and-tested models, such as seminars and lectures followed by excursions to the exemplary institutions where the Czech teachers do their internship. The project is managed in a participatory manner and a colloquium of experts is created, which consists not only of the project team but also of the German and Czech teachers. The Colloquium guarantees that stakeholders will network across institutions under the informal network to address STEM issues related to sustainability.
