Description | The Midcontinent Independent System Operator (MISO) has received approval from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) to increase the number of power generation projects it can study under its expedited interconnection queue process each quarter from 10 to 15. This temporary process, called ERAS, aims to fast track new generation to enter service and address near-term resource adequacy and reliability concerns across the MISO footprint, which spans 15 states in the US Midwest and South. The increase in the quarterly study limit will allow MISO to complete existing ERAS requests in fewer cycles and enable eligible projects to obtain executed generator interconnection agreements faster. |
