Mississippi Rural Water Oversight Committee and Water System Oversight Legislation

planned

This project involves the creation of the Mississippi Rural Water Oversight Committee and the implementation of legislation to monitor and improve the financial and operational conditions of rural water providers in Mississippi. The legislation requires rural water providers to conduct rate and capacity studies, produce asset management plans, maintain financial discipline, and allows state intervention in cases of fiscal distress or failure to serve customers adequately.
