Missouri Rural Public Transit Funding

planned

The project involves state funding for rural public transit services across Missouri, including door-to-door transportation and fixed-route public transit services in over 20 counties in Southeast Missouri. The funding supports transit providers who deliver nearly 40 million rides annually and stimulate $4 billion in economic activity statewide. The proposed state budget cuts from $6.7 million to $1.7 million could slash routes, reduce federal funding matches, and threaten access to jobs for residents.
