Description | Kentucky Power and the Kentucky Industrial Users Coalition reached a settlement agreement to preserve Kentucky Power's half of the Mitchell power plant in West Virginia beyond 2028. The plant, which began operating in 1971, is a coal-fired power plant that may require repair or replacement of a concrete cooling tower. Kentucky Power plans to apply for a U.S. Department of Energy grant to help pay for the repair or replacement. The Kentucky Public Service Commission is to consider the proposal. |
