Mkuju River Uranium Mining Project

under construction

The Mkuju River uranium mining project in southeastern Tanzania is entering a new, decisive phase of development. The project operator, Mantra Tanzania Ltd., a subsidiary of Uranium One Group under Rosatom State Corporation, has started preparations for the construction of the main industrial complex. Activities underway include land preparation, road construction, and creation of necessary infrastructure. The project follows a pilot process plant launched in July 2025, which provided valuable data for optimizing the main plant's design. The pilot plant will continue to serve as a testing and training facility during the industrial mining phase. The project also includes social initiatives and professional training for local residents.
