Description

Description

The aim of the module entitled “Memory and Future of the European Union” supported by the Faculty of Law of the University of Caen Normandie is to understand the construction of Europe (memory) and its challenges (future) through a multidisciplinary, participatory program based on a totally innovative e-learning approach. This programme is intended for UNICAEN students with a wide range of profiles, international students from partner universities, and the general public. This program is adaptable and will enable students to follow a complete course, a videoconference course, or a summer course. The module has 3 focus points: - A focus on the mastery of disciplinary skills in public, private, and EU law, political sciences, history of law, history, that consists of 50 hours including specific teachings provided by academics as well as by actors of the construction of the EU through videoconferences and is completed by a summer course. This focus point also promotes the development of knowledge in French or English depending on the participant's origin and is valued by the acquisition of open badges. - A focus on the raising of awareness about the EU’s past actions to show its importance in everyday life, and about its future challenges with the organization of conferences, and playful and participative working sessions open to the general public (4 conferences per year - 8 hours). - A focus on cultural actions (shows, masterclasses, exhibitions of the works produced) to work on the cultural theme of memory and of the future of the EU and to discuss the motto “United in diversity”. The program should encourage students to discover various forms of artistic approaches (music, sculpture, dance, film, and video), to participate in exercises on cultural aspects that students are not used to work on in their academic life, and to open up exchanges with the general public (4 European moments planned during the year on key dates).
