Mobile High-Security Vault

A mobile, high-security vault housed in a 20-foot shipping container designed and constructed by Sandia National Laboratories to safeguard critical materials in remote or temporary locations. The project was developed in response to a request from the National Nuclear Security Administration’s Stockpile Responsiveness Program and completed a functional prototype in six months. The team is building two additional full-scale prototypes and plans to participate in a Department of Defense joint exercise to test hardware readiness, with plans to transition the technology to industry for broader production and use.
