Description

Description

The project will make a considerable contribution to strengthening sustainable and “soft” mobility in the Lake Constance area, by investigating empirically which measures actually lead to changes in behaviour. The central outcome is an application (app) for smartphones that is free to use, which is coordinated for the public transport services in the cross-border Lake Constance region, and can be adapted to the individual preferences of users. The app is complemented by an evaluation option, which is helpful for the parties involved (e.g. municipal) to be able to carry out customised, time-delimited evaluations of traffic flows based on participating (or short-term activatable) app users. The data collected via the applications and anonymised can be used: - for direct feedback to the user, to encourage them to alter their transport behaviour, based on their own preferences. - for the analysis of traffic flows, particularly with regard to observable changes and trends (also relevant without it being representative of the universe) taking into account what is almost real-time data. - This will help identify traffic behaviour in the regions studied, - to optimise the existing public transport range, - to evaluate measures in the field of traffic with an immediate feedback option, - and for urban development planning (e.g. access to public buildings, shopping opportunities, services and residential areas). - This will serve to better identify the preferences and response rate of specific target groups, such as commuters. Also, nudging measures are part of the discussion (with nudging, gentle “nudges” are deployed, to move people in the direction required, without patronising them via sanctions or prohibitions.) This is about finding out which supporting measures are suitable for different target groups and under which framework conditions, in order to influence traffic behaviour.
