Description

Description

Mobility Spaces (MxS) is the 2022-2024 project of On the Move, the only European network for cultural mobility on European and international scales, which focuses on building the capacity of its members and the cultural and creative sector (CCS) across borders. The project aims to empower members to be in better capacity to deal with mobility issues from a practical level to a more holistic approach (inclusion, gender, accessibility, and environmental issues). This comprehensive empowerment based on peer-to-peer learning and thematic expertise will have a cascading effect on the CCS while providing more consistent, regular and tailored tools and information to internationalise one’s career. MxS activities are twofold: - Spaces of (online) encounters with 3 Yearly Cultural Mobility Forum, 45 Working Groups’ meetings, 6 Webinars, 3 Contextualised Mentoring supporting 30 new mobility multipliers, 1 Green Networks’ Certification, 72 Advocacy and Representation events – all attracting over 4,900 participants. - Digital Spaces of Information with a pluri-functional, accessible website with over 500 funded opportunities a year and an enriched online library, 3 Cultural Mobility Yearbooks, 3 new Mobility Funding Guides, 13 Briefings and Reports with experiences and learning from the MxS project – reaching out more than 40,000 end-users. On the Move positions itself more than ever as a network by the sector for all CCS, with the ambition to develop quality, consistent and context-based forms of capacity building, learning and resources out of the expertise of its members for policymakers and funders but principally for artists and culture professionals. The cascading capacity building effect of the MxS project goes beyond the challenges the CCS faces due to the COVID-19 crisis that brought transnational cooperation close to a halt, and proposes sustainable tools to develop a fairer system of mobility support for a larger diversity of artists and culture professionals.
