Modernisation of energy statistics

The main purpose of the Grant project “Modernisation of energy statistics” is for the Statistical Office of the Republic of Slovenia (SURS), which is the only beneficiary of this grant application, to achieve the following objectives: -WP1: Development of the methodology and obtainment of new, more disaggregated data on energy consumption in the road and rail transport sectors. New, more disaggregated data will be crucial for future policy planning under the modernisation of energy statistics. -WP2: Development of the methodology and obtainment of more disaggregated data on electricity production. Electricity production is becoming more decentralised and monitoring it on disaggregated levels is therefore essential for various reasons. One of them is accurate monitoring of clean energy transition. -WP3: Development of the methodology and obtainment of new data on energy consumption of data centres. Data centres are big energy consumers and new data will be important for monitoring the environmental impact of digitalisation.
