Description | The J&K government plans to modernise and augment the existing irrigation-cum-dewatering schemes in the Sonawari constituency of Bandipora district. The irrigation network includes 112 canals covering 245 km of main canals and 90 km of distributaries, benefiting 20,625 households over 21,416 acres. Four schemes have been completed under AIBP and District Capex funds, with 21 works executed in the last five years. Eight DPRs have been prepared under NABARD and PMJVK for further modernisation. A key project, Construction of LIS Odina, is proposed under RIDF-XXI (NABARD) to lift water from River Jhelum to Nallah Amir Khan, boosting agricultural productivity. |
