Description

Description

The aim of the programme is to improve the quality, efficiency and sustainability of medical care in the multidisciplinary medical centres of Nukus (Republic of Karakalpakstan), Navoi (Navoiyskaya Oblast), Andijan (Andijanskaya Oblast) and Bukhara (Bukhara Oblast). This is to be achieved by modernising medical equipment, introducing modern care methods and implementing rationalisation and optimisation measures. This is to contribute to the overarching development policy goal of improving the health of the entire population. The target group of the project is essentially the rural population of Uzbekistan. The total population of the regions is around 7.2 million people. The total cost of the programme is estimated at EUR 20.9 million, of which EUR 10.0 million (EUR 9.0 million - investment and EUR 1.0 million - accompanying measure) are to be financed by FC funds and around EUR 10.9 million by Uzbeks themselves.
