Floods and damage by floods cause serious problems year by year. Preparation and protection not only require considerable expertise but major financial expenditures as well. Therefore people living beside living waters often expect floods due at the time of the changes of seasons full of anxiety. Thus, protection of their houses and property is not only their own responsibility but of water management experts as well. The project funding provided irreplaceable assistance in ensuring that the floods of the River Fehér-Körös arriving at the area of the Körös Valley District Environment and Water Directorate are discharged without causing flood damage, as nearly forty thousand people in 5452 homes in the relieved flood plain along the River Fehér-Körös can feel safer by the reduction of damage by flood, thereby not only their life conditions but the security of their property have also improved.
