Description

The New Hampshire Bureau of Public Works is planning to modernize the state fish hatcheries and is currently evaluating bids submitted by design firms. The outdated hatchery in New Hampton will be replaced with a 150,000-lb-per-year fish production center, consisting of: a 9,600-sq-ft building containing rearing and broodstock tanks along with conditioned office and crew space; a 16,000-sq-ft pavilion-style intermediate building containing rearing tanks and a recirculating aquaculture system; and a 60,000-sq-ft tension-fabric structure grow-out building containing rearing tanks and a recirculating aquaculture system. There also will be new hatcheries in Berlin and New Durham. All the new hatcheries will be designed to meet state and federal standards for discharge of phosphorous and other nutrients.
