The overall aim of the action is to improve the timeliness and quality of the weekly death statistics and to supporting the compilation of indicators at different periodicities. The aim of the project is to adapt the national weekly deaths statistics to the new requirements under the European Statistical System (SMP ESS), i.e. to develop procedures and technical solutions for submitting the required data at an appropriate level of detail, to enhance the data compilation and transmission system and to improve the quality and comparability of data. Undertaking the tasks proposed for fulfilment under the action will enable the development of comprehensive tools that will improve the process of data preparation and transmission. Automation of the processes within the production framework of this statistics will allow for regular and quick data delivery to Eurostat, as well as for national needs.
