Description | Metrans and Interport Servis have partnered to jointly modernize the Košice intermodal terminal in eastern Slovakia. The project aims to transform the site into a multifunctional logistics center with one of Slovakia's most advanced intermodal terminals, featuring digital and automated technologies and dual-gauge infrastructure for efficient transshipment between broad gauge and standard gauge railways. The expansion includes new cargo handling and storage areas and two modern railway cranes to improve cargo handling efficiency. The terminal will serve as a key hub connecting the EU and Ukraine, enhancing logistics, employment, infrastructure, and environmental standards in the region. |
