The project involves modernizing the Jonquière Hospital’s operating room and emergency department. The new OR spaces will include a reception area, a waiting room, pre- and post-op areas and adapted washrooms. The work will involve demolishing the existing walls in the area, and removing various elements such as floor coverings, ceilings, plumbing, ventilation, etc. Reconstruction of the area will involve building new walls, replacing various finishes (floor, ceiling), replacing plumbing and ventilation to match the needs of the new spaces. The project also includes upgrades to two of the operating theatres. This will be achieved by replacing the electrical distribution system, adding new insulated electrical panels and installing a new electrical and medical gas distribution network. With regard to the addition of storage space in the emergency area, the existing spaces will be redesigned to provide a storage room close to the stretcher area to meet the needs of the nursing staff. To achieve this, the emergency staff changing rooms and break room will be redeveloped in an adjacent area. The modernization and upgrading of this health infrastructure will support efforts to respond to the pandemic and facilitate economic recovery.
