Modernization of the pediatric care unit (C-5), guard station, single room and bedroom

The project consists of modernizing and expanding the existing guard post of the pediatric care unit of the Hôpital de Chicoutimi in order to make it a more functional place, able to accommodate twelve people seated. A single room must be reconfigured in adjacent spaces, taking into account the loss of a single room caused by the expansion of the guard post. In addition, the project includes upgrading the existing negative pressure chamber, including an airlock with hand washing station and private toilet room. The work consists of demolishing the existing walls, replacing the various finishes, creating new divisions in the spaces, replacing the fixed furniture (cabinets on the walls), the plumbing elements, when required, as well as replacing the ventilation components that do not comply with new ones that will meet the standards in force. The project will support pandemic response and economic recovery, notably by maintaining and upgrading health infrastructure.
