Description

Description

Crusoe and Redwood Materials launched a modular data center powered by solar panels and repurposed EV batteries. The project features modular data centers the size of shipping trailers, built in factories and quickly connected on-site. The first site is at Redwood's campus in Nevada with a solar field and hundreds of used EV batteries. Initially, four modular units called Spark data centers were connected, and plans are underway to build another 20 units at a new Colorado factory, boosting compute power nearly sevenfold. The system runs 99.2% of the time using only clean power, bypassing traditional grid connection delays.
