Mombasa–Mtwapa–Kilifi Highway Upgrade

The project involves upgrading the Mombasa–Mtwapa–Kilifi highway, including construction of a new dual-carriageway bridge at Mtwapa to replace the existing single-lane bridge, expansion works from Mtwapa Bridge to Kwa Kadzengo, rehabilitation of the road towards Kilifi Bridge, construction of the Mbogolo River Bridge, a weighbridge and access roads, as well as markets and feeder roads in Takaungu, Ronald Ngala and Shariani areas. The upgrade aims to improve traffic flow along the busy Mombasa–Malindi route, a critical transport corridor serving tourism, trade and cargo transport along the Coast.
