Mon-Fayette Expressway

This project consisted of the construction of the Mon-Fayette Expressway which included a new highway; reconstruction of existing interchanges; reconstruction and realignment of multiple adjacent local roads, along with several other minor roads and driveway construction. The main element of this project is a 3,022-foot cast-in-place segmental bridge in mountainous terrain that carries the Mon-Fayette Expressway over the Monongahela River. The bridge includes a 518-foot main span consisting of dual-cell box girders. The seven-span structure has piers ranging in height from 100 feet to 206 feet and includes more than seven million pounds of reinforcing steel.
