Description | The Monsoon Wind Power Project is the largest onshore wind farm in Southeast Asia, consisting of 133 turbines across a vast area in southeastern Laos. The project was built by the Power Construction Corporation of China (PowerChina) and is operated by a Thai-led consortium. It began commercial operation at the end of August 2025 and is expected to save more than 32 million tons of carbon emissions over 25 years. All electricity generated is sold to Vietnam via a 44-mile transmission line. |
