Montenegro LNG Terminal and Gas-Fired Power Plant Project

Montenegro and Japan's JERA have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to explore the development of a liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal and an associated gas-fired power plant in Montenegro. The project includes a comprehensive feasibility study on the technical, commercial, and financial sustainability of the LNG terminal, including analysis of potential locations. The LNG terminal and combined cycle thermal power plant have been considered for the Adriatic port city of Bar, but previous plans stalled due to environmental and local opposition.
