Description | Monterey County has unveiled a public COVID-19 memorial at the Monterey County Government Center in Salinas, the first such government-sponsored public memorial of its kind in California. The memorial consists of five colorful panels in the center’s courtyard, representing the diverse geography of Monterey County. It honors the victims of COVID-19, especially essential agricultural workers who were disproportionately impacted during the pandemic.
