Month of European Film and European Film Awards 2021 + 2022

ended

The European Film Awards are the annual celebration of European cinema every year. Nevertheless, the European Film Awards lack visibility beyond the core of the European film industry. The European Film Academy is keen on changing this and increasing the impact of the Awards to general audiences in the upcoming decade. The Month of European Film is 5-week programme leading up to the European Film Awards. The Month programme will take place in various sorts of cinemas, on digital platforms and on television and be covered through social media and in all other media channels. At the end of the programme, the European Film Awards will be the climax of the Month of European Film. This way, and additional to what’s happening throughout the year, one month annually will become a visible beacon for European film. The set-up of the ceremony of the European Film Awards will also be adapted gradually into a format that includes film-loving audiences in the celebration of European film. The European Film Academy and European Film Academy Productions are closely affiliated companies. European Film Academy Productions is a 100% subsidiary of the Academy. It is the in-house production company responsible for the production of Academy projects. At the moment of applying (October 2021) the officially registered name of the production company was still EFA Productions gGmbH, which is currently being renamed. In the applications we refer to European Film Academy (‘Academy’) and European Film Academy Productions (‘Academy Productions’).
