Description

Description

The new station and rail connection will link to the 67-kilometre long, 26 station REM light rail transit network currently under construction in the Greater Montréal area. Our investment in this project builds on our previous $1.3 billion investment in the REM. A fully accessible REM station will be an important public asset providing fast, convenient service to and from the airport regardless of local vehicle traffic and weather. For the first time, Montréal joins other Canadian cities which have modern airport-rail links. Thousands of airport and airline employees who work in and around the airport daily will commute more easily. The new station will also reduce traffic congestion in the area and offer an environmentally sustainable transit option between the airport and Greater Montréal area. Quebecers and visitors to the Greater Montréal area will benefit from this station for generations to come.Benefits of CIB involvementBuilding a station and rail access has significant economic and environmental benefits to the airport, the city and region. Our investment will allow the REM station to be built and enhance the value of the airport and its services.
