Description | The Mooi Plaats solar photovoltaic (PV) facility is a 240 MW solar power plant located in the Northern Cape near Noupoort, South Africa. It is the largest single-site solar power project in the country and part of the Koruson 2 cluster. Developed by Envusa Energy, a joint venture between Anglo American and EDF Renewables, the plant uses over 416,000 bifacial solar panels on a single-axis tracking system to generate nearly 360 million kWh annually. It supplies clean power to Anglo American's mining operations under a 20-year agreement and supports local economic development with job creation and community benefits. |
