Description

Description

Moose Mountain Provincial Park (MMPP) currently treats its sewage in a twin-cell, facultative lagoon system. The lagoon is nearing full capacity and is unable to adequately treat future increases in sewage hauled or pumped to this location if the Park or the Village of Kenosee expand. The project planning phase will include assessment of sewage disposal and treatment needs in MMPP, identification of upgrade options, and will confirm the final approach for the sewage lagoon improvements. The upgrades to the current twin cell lagoon will meet all applicable regulatory and capacity requirements. The project scope is expected to include earthwork expansion of the existing primary and secondary cells, installation of an HDPE liner as well as improvements to the transfer structure, dump station, fencing and access. Sampling wells will be established to allow for required ongoing testing of groundwater in the vicinity of the sewage lagoon. Required consultations will occur and regulatory approvals will be obtained for all work associated with this project.
