Description

Description

The project strengthens EU-focused education in schools and vocational education and training (VET) by providing teachers with structured training, innovative methodologies, and certified professional development. Although the EU plays a central role in shaping political, economic, and social life, EU-related education remains underdeveloped, with many teachers lacking the resources and confidence to integrate these topics effectively into their teaching. To address these challenges, the project offers targeted teacher training that combines hands-on classroom implementation, modular didactic materials, and interdisciplinary approaches. It introduces research-backed pedagogical methods, including problem-based learning, gamification, flipped classroom techniques, and digital tools, ensuring that EU topics are taught in an engaging and pupil-centered way. To foster sustainability, the project establishes a community of practice, bringing together teachers, school management, and librarians to support peer learning and long-term institutional adoption of EU education. A key innovation is the integration of school libraries as dynamic learning spaces where pupils engage in inquiry-based learning, guided discussions, and research projects on European issues. This approach extends EU education beyond the classroom, enhancing critical thinking, media literacy, and civic engagement. The project also ensures formal recognition of EU teacher training through micro-credentialing, allowing teachers to document their professional development within Slovenia’s national certification system. By collaborating with schools, VET providers, and educational stakeholders, the project aims to institutionalize EU education as a core component of teacher training, equipping pupils with the knowledge and skills needed for active citizenship in a democratic EU.
