Description
Description | In 2004 the state government of Michoacan, Mexico, awarded a 20 years build, operate, and transfer contract for a 1,200 liters per second wastewater treatment plant in the city of Morelia to a 50-50 joint venture of private Mexican companies Aquasol and Tecnologica Intercontinental (Ticsa). The plant was expected to cost $30 million. Financing was reached with the help of the Mexican government, who provided 40 percent of the financing. The remaining 60 percent were arranged through a combination of private operator financing and loans. Operations commenced in February 2007. In May 2013, the Colombian company EPM acquired 80% of Ticsa's shares for US$ 113 million. The remaining 20% of the shares were held by the Mexican family Primelles. |
