Description | Concessionaria Mosquitao S.A., a partnership of the Brazilian companies Ilcalopes Empreendimentos e Participacoes (60%), JRF Empreendimentos Ltda (20%) and Triton Energia Ltda (20%), was awarded the contract to build and operate a 30-MW hydro power plant located in the Caiapo River, state of Goias. The company signed a 30-year concession contract with ANEEL in March 2002, and the power plant was named PCH Mosquitao. PCH Mosquitao established a 20-year power purchase agreement with Eletrobras in 2004 to sell all its output through the federal sponsored program PROINFA. The investment commitment was estimated at US$ 50 million (BRL 100 million). The construction works started in 2003, and commercial operations commenced in December 2006. |
