Description

The main objective of the project is to build a new 1,342.44 sq. m Interpretive Cultural Art Gallery. The Interpretive Cultural Art Gallery will provide a Indigenous Land and Language Circle- Relational Healing: Indigenous mental health and wellbeing through Indigenous language revitalization and rebuilding human-land-animal relations, based on traditional - cultural knowledge practices, reconciliation and methods. The Interpretive Centre will share the history and stories of residential schools and survivors. From a Nakoda perspective it will tell the history of Mosquito’s involvement in the 1885 rebellion, and the last mass hanging in Canada. It will also share the history of Mosquito First Nation history and its signing of Treaty Six and and Four. The Art Gallery will show the art of Henry Beaudry and showcase First Nations Artists from the surrounding communities.
