Mount Prospect Park Skate Park

planned

City officials approved a preliminary design for an $11 million skate park in Mount Prospect Park, Brooklyn. The project involves constructing a roughly 20,000-square-foot skate facility within the park's central oval, which is currently open greenspace. The design aims to expand recreation options and address a lack of skate facilities in the area, serving a range of users from beginners to advanced skaters. The project has faced opposition from community groups citing environmental, safety, and legal concerns, but has received support from skate advocates and local officials.
