Description
Description | The Mountain Home fiber optic internet project began over six years ago to connect the city's water wells and wastewater system to reliable internet, later expanding to include residential neighborhoods. The project aims to provide fiber internet as basic infrastructure similar to roads or water, offering faster and more reliable internet service. The initial rollout started with Local Improvement District One (LID1) in select neighborhoods but faced delays and is currently paused. New homes are connected, but older homes face higher costs for connection. The city is working with the city council to resume expansion with LID2. |
