Description | The Mountain Valley Pipeline (MVP) is a 303-mile (487.6km) long natural gas pipeline project between West Virginia and Virginia in the US. It supplies natural gas from the Marcellus and Utica shale regions to markets in the Mid and South Atlantic regions. The pipeline can deliver up to 2 billion cubic feet per day of natural gas and includes compressor stations, meter and regulation stations, and other infrastructure. The project commenced construction in February 2018 and started operations in June 2024. An expansion project, MVP Boost, is planned to increase capacity by adding compression at existing stations and building a new compressor station, with construction expected to start in 2026/2027 and completion in mid-2028. |
