Limits: Dillon Rd to City of Desert Hot Springs City Limit Length: Approximately 8,650 feet District: 4 Community: Southeast Desert Hot Springs The County of Riverside Transportation Department is proposing to resurface approximately 8,650 feet of Mountain View Rd from Dillon Rd to 175 feet north of Whitney Ct (City of Desert Hot Springs City Limit). Mountain View Rd is classified as an arterial road in the County of Riverside’s General Plan for the first mile north of Dillon Rd, after which it is classified as a secondary highway that is 50% City of Desert Hot Springs and 50% County of Riverside for the last 2,700 feet of the project. Mountain View Rd is a two-lane road that varies between 24 feet and 58 feet wide, with curb and gutter along 0.20 miles within City of Desert Hot Springs limits. The proposed project will include pulverizing the full roadway width and overlaying with Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) for 1.2 miles and fully removing the roadway and placing back HMA for the remainder of the project. Additional improvements include: · Reconstruction of concrete cross gutters, spandrels, and ADA deficient curb ramps · Upgrading the existing traffic signal at Dillon Rd to a camera detection system · Replacing existing guardrail to meet current Caltrans standards · Reconstruction of existing overside drains using concrete-rock slopes · Reconstruction of driveways · Utility adjustments · Restriping of roadway, including pavement markers and reflectors · Salvage/removal and installation of new signs No additional right-of-way or temporary construction easements (TCE) will be required to construct the proposed improvements. Permits to enter and construct (PEC) have been coordinated to obtain access for improvements within private property that are necessary to complete the project. The project improvements will be within the existing footprint of the roadway and will slightly raise the roadway profile where the pavement is being pulverized and overlayed.
