With different types of interventions, MOVE will get people to use sustainable transport to and from school and work. Studies in Denmark, Sweden and Norway show that the car is the most widely used mode of transport. Passenger transport and largely fossil fuel-fuelled passenger cars account for a large part of CO2 emissions. If we are to reduce emissions, we need to walk and cycle more. More people need to take public transport and we need to get used to combining modes of transport, such as cycling and bus, or kickbike and then carpooling. Move will work to get people to transport more sustainably by influencing habits and behaviors and developing new initiatives within four themes: Transport of children Transport of young people Nodes in peripheral areas Commuting Move consists of a partnership of two regions, eight municipalities and two transport companies from Denmark, Sweden and Norway. The partners represent all roles in public traffic ordering and procurement in the three countries. It involves transport companies, regional and municipal transport providers, mobility planners, large employers, school authorities and hosts high schools and companies in the Kattegat-Skagerrak area. Regions also have a strategic weight when it comes to national and European transport planning, making it possible to broaden their efforts. The project expects the target groups, through the interventions, to gain increased knowledge and knowledge about sustainable transport and that testing of the interventions will contribute to ten percent more test participants changing their behaviour and transporting themselves in a more sustainable way than they did before the tests. In the longer term, the project expects that the conditions for sustainable transport will increase, through better bus and train connections, as well as through flexible employers and school activities that enable and reward sustainable transport. The project also expects the initiatives to lay the foundations for more sustainable transport habits among children and young people as they get older. Five to ten years after the end of the project, the ambition is that the successful measures will be used by municipalities, regions, transport companies, schools, secondary schools and companies throughout the Kattegat-Skagerrak area.
