Description | MovingON is a two-year project that brings together 6 EU countries designed to engage and empower justice-involved and at-risk youth to take part in society and decision-making processes that affects them. Grounded in a twin participatory and restorative approach that draws upon the practice knowledge and expertise of these young people, MovingON aligns with the European Union Youth Strategy 2019-2027 overall objectives of encouraging and equipping young people with resources to become active citizens and agents of solidarity. MovingON has the following specific objectives (SO): SO1: For the period of 24 months, promote online and offline cooperation among EU organisations, professionals active in the field of juvenile justice, youth policy makers and youth mentors, creating space and means to promote justice-involved and at-risk youth transition from passive to active citizens, increasing their trust in institutions, and empowering them to take control over their lives and participate in society; SO2: Tailor already developed methodologies and deliverables to empower young people, making them relevant to engage and empower at least 70 justice-involved and at-risk youth to participate in decision making processes that affects them; SO3: Involve at least 58 justice-involved and at-risk youth and youth mentors in 2 youth mobilities, amplifying their voices from the local to the EU level, showcasing commonalities among young Europeans and encouraging discussion and debate on their connection to the EU, its values and democratic foundations; SO4: Organize 12 Circles of Dialogue to raise awareness among policy and decision-makers on the benefits of involving justice-involved and at-risk youth in society and decision-making processes that affects them; SO5: Give visibility to the project issue and strengthen its impact beyond the local level, closing the project with a final event targeting more than 50 stakeholders from across the EU. |
