Within the emerging industries identified by the European Cluster Observatory, transport and mobility plays an important role which is confirmed also in the EC Communication “For an industrial renaissance”. Mobility industries comprise activities that provide products and services which aim to optimise the mobility of goods and people by combining or connecting different means and modes of transport, by optimising the effectiveness and resource-efficiency or reducing the cost or environmental impact of mobility. They build upon competences in transport and logistics but may also cut into other sectors such as mobile navigation services and green technologies. The activities of this emerging industry add value by providing, for instance, integrated, smart, clean, service-oriented and/or user-focused mobility services and related products. They provide new services to the particular needs of both businesses (B2B) and customers (B2C). Under Strand 1 we aim therefore at creating a European Strategic Cluster Partnership in the field of mobility industry, fostering the European collaboration between clusters in transport and logistics, ICT and green technologies. The Partnership will aim at raising a new value chain from the cross-sectorial and cross border cooperation, and foster SMEs’ internationalization by targeting specific Third Countries in North Africa and Latin America. The Partnership will: - perform a study and analysis of strategic partners in Europe - build capacity among its members for development and management of European collaboration activities - perform intelligence gathering on market trend and opportunities - develop an internationalization strategy, including a roadmap for implementation
