Description

The Health II Project responds to Mozambique’s need to implement the Health Sector Plan (2000 – 2004). It's designed to address the most pressing issues of the health sector in Mozambique and aims to enhance access to quality health care through improved primary health care infrastructure, support to the human resources development programme, and support to the control of infectious diseases, namely malaria and HIV/AIDS in the three northern provinces of Niassa, Nampula and Cabo Delgado. The project should provide resources to strengthen the health care infrastructure, human resources development programme, management capacity building and control of the spread of HIV/AIDS and malaria. The Health II Project complement the support of other donors to the implementation of the Plan. The project focus attention on (i) improved primary health care, (ii) institutional development, (iii) control of infectious diseases (malaria and HIV/AIDS), and (iv) project management.
