Mozambique - Rural Roads Study

The proposed project focuses on two (2) road studies in Mozambique. It is part of the government's efforts to develop remote and inaccessible areas, and to facilitate access to different regions and ports by providing all-weather roads in the country. The project aims to promote increased economic activity in the areas concerned so that previously underserved or neglected communities can benefit from important services. The study will provide the data needed to identify appropriate strategies to improve the roads selected for the project, which may have beneficial effects on the areas they serve. These studies will be performed in two separate lots. Lot A on the road from Montepuez to Lichinga (496 kilometers) in the provinces of Cabo Delgado and Niassa will be completed in 16 months, and lot B on the road from Chokwe to Chibuto (57 kilometers) in Gaza Province in 8 months.
