Description | This present intervention focuses on the second phase of the Women's Empowerment and Skills Development Project in Mozambique. This operation aims to sustain the achievements of two completed Bank financed projects, these include (i) the first phase of Women's Entrepreneurship and Skills Development Project (WESDP) and (ii) the Rural Financial Intermediation Support Project (RFISP). The Phase I of the Project, whose one of the main outcomes is improvement in nutritional deficiencies of the beneficiaries, transformed poor and illiterate rural women into active entrepreneurs that enabled them to participate in decision-making. This phase 2 Project will consolidate the activities undertaken under Phase I. The Project responds to the needs at local government level which inter alia include technical capacity to ensure proper monitoring, supervision and coordination. It consists of the following components: (i) Enabling Rural Livelihoods and Marketing Support (ii) Mainstreaming Women’s Access to Finance. The project will help sustain the provision of technical support, guidance and mentoring/coaching to the associations. Its cost is UA 4.22 million for a period of three years. |
