Mozambique Commercial Code Project

This project aims to assist the Ministry of Justice, Constitutional and Religious Affairs (MJCR) in enhancing the implementation of Mozambique's new legal framework for businesses, specifically in relation to the application of the Commercial Code. The project will provide technical assistance in two key areas: 1. Regulatory review and reform implementation. This involves supporting the government in drafting additional laws, regulations, amendments, and other complementary measures necessary for the effective implementation of the Commercial Code. 2. Capacity building and reform communication. This includes various activities such as: a) training government officials responsible for implementing the reforms, b) assisting the MJCR in developing explanatory materials to support adequate implementation of the Commercial Code, c) raising awareness among Mozambique’s private sector about the benefits of the reforms aimed at simplifying business creation and operations, and d) supporting the preparation of communication material and mechanisms to disseminate the reforms.
