Mozambique Human Development Integrated Project. US$200 million, 5 years, IPF with PBCs.The project aims to improve education outcomes for school-aged children in the most vulnerable districts of Mozambique, using schools as a platform for the integrated provision of basic services. The project builds on and leverages existing projects in Mozambique, employing a multisectoral and integrated approach involving key sectors to improve education quality (including health, social protection, energy, digital connectivity, water, and sanitation) for Mozambique’s most vulnerable children and respective families. By utilizing a whole-of-government approach, this project increases the integration of service provision between education, health, and social services while strengthening the capacity of the government at all levels to deliver these services.The proposed project focuses on targeted districts to maximize impact and leverage synergies of service delivery across the sectors, based on a Social Vulnerability Index. The project targets districts with the highest levels of social vulnerability, which are indicated by the Social Vulnerability Index for Districts (IVS-D), composed of the poverty rates and deficiencies in the provision of HD services in each district of Mozambique. The final list of districts also considers the locations of the other related projects to maximize the impact. Within the districts, there will be a priority for the most densely populated administrative posts (subdivision of districts).
