Description | The project entails the construction of a 218 km, being 142 km at Mozambique side and 76 km at Malawi side, 400 kV (initially to be operated at 220 kV) power line from Matambo substation, in Mozambique, to Phombeya, north of Malawi's commercial capital, Blantyre. The first assignment will involve the design, supply and installation of the 400 kV overhead transmission line from the Mozambique-Malawi border to Phombeya substation including construction of the landing bay at 400kV Phombeya substation related to the Malawian side. The second assignments include extension/ upgrading of Matambo substation form 220 kV to 400 kV and upgrading of SCADA systems (EDM) related to Mozambique side. |
