Description | Muir Mhòr floating wind farm, a 1 GW project being developed by Vattenfall and Fred. Olsen Seawind, has received onshore planning consent from Aberdeenshire Council. The consent covers the onshore infrastructure including underground cabling and a substation to connect the wind farm to the National Grid. The offshore consent application is still under consideration by the Scottish Government. The wind farm will be located approximately 63km off the east coast of Scotland near Peterhead and is expected to generate clean power for up to 1.2 million homes annually once operational in the early 2030s. |
